St. Paul Obama Office Hit

The communique:

“In the early hours of Sunday August 24th, the first day of action against the Democratic National Convention in Denver, a Barack Obama campaign office was attacked in St. Paul.

Two windows and a glass door were smashed out. Paint bombs were thrown at the exterior and interior of the building.

Today our friends in Denver will stand up to the electoral spectacle despite the violent threats of the police. Those who attacked this office stand in solidarity with our friends and loved ones in Denver. We look forward to seeing them in the streets.

the conspiracy of shards of glass

Santa Cruz development Vandalized

On August 24, four windows and a glass door of the sales office of 2030 North Pacific were shattered with a hammer. Three weeks earlier, on the night before the “grand opening” (August 1), the walls were paintbombed by glass bottles filled with black paint.

2030 North Pacific is a monstrous four-story development that spans an entire city block of downtown Santa Cruz with upscale condos (selling for over $200,000) and storefronts for yet more shitty boutiques. Anyone who lives in Santa Cruz (who isn’t a yuppie, that is) has probably seen this offensive gentrification and winced in disgust.

The triangular city block had been an abandoned lot in the years previous, and before that once hosted a community space called What is Art? “Development” is as good a euphemism as any for capitalism’s process of transforming open spaces and anything with potential for life into dead commodities. We cannot wait for this city to crumble into ruins where human beings and animals might be able to breathe and feel sunlight and play again–and so we hasten to destroy these hated constructions in whatever small way we can. Next time, a mob armed with sledgehammers…

This most recent attack is in solidarity with the people living at the “wood squat” of Guelph, Ontario who are facing eviction by that city today, August 25. A group of people there have been living for over a year on some forested land technically owned by the city, growing and foraging much of their food. And now, the perennial conflict arises again between those desiring to live freely and this civilization based upon “owning” and “developing” the land and suppressing all other ways of life.

Santa Cruz McDonald’s Attacked

by Not Lovin’ It

In the early morning of August 25, three windows were broken and a surveillance camera knocked off the roof of the Ocean Street McDonalds in Santa Cruz, California.

The Beijing Olympics have ended, but the repressive apparatus set up for the Games remains in place: some 300,000 surveillance cameras, 400,000 informants, and a general tightening of government control. This is always the result of these multinational spectacles. McDonalds, one of the major sponsors of the Olympics, also remains omnipresent and continues to reaps its profits with four new restaurants and a large share of the advertising spectacle. This, too, is business as usual.

McDonalds will also gladly sponsor the 2010 Winter Olympics on stolen indigenous land in British Columbia and the 2012 Summer Olympics in the most surveilled metropolis in the world (London). They will continue to be attacked for their role in perpetuating the Olympics and all the repression, surveillance, development and profiteering that accompany the Games.

In the early morning of August 25, three windows were broken and a surveillance camera knocked off the roof of the Ocean Street McDonalds in Santa Cruz, California. Here, as in Beijing and everywhere else in the world, the cameras are the bosses’ eyes pointed at the workers being exploited and the homeless and impoverished who congregate outside this unfortunate venue.

People the world over hate McDonalds as a foremost symbol of American capitalism, and its franchises are targeted in almost every uprising and riot that erupts these days. Here in California too, we revolt against everything McDonalds is and represents. We know that the crap that they pass off as “food” is “cheap” in dollars, but is the direct result of worker exploitation, rainforest deforestation, etc. We’re sick of the bullshit that is McDonalds, just as we are disgusted with the spectacle of the Olympics and enraged by the constant presence of surveillance cameras everywhere. We’re sure that many others share our distaste, and we encourage them to articulate their negativity through action.

Surveillance Cameras Dismantled in Bloomington

Last night, the surveillance camera behind the Salivation Army store in Bloomington, Indiana was torn down. This cheap excuse for surveillance technology was recently installed, and pointed at the wealth of couches, clothes, and various household appliances and knick-knacks that folks leave behind the Salivation Army. Next to the camera was a sign proclaiming, “Thieves will be prosecuted.”

The back of Salivation Army has become an informal free store, where people leave excess goods, and people who don’t have money or just want free clothes or whatever they might need can take as they please. Salivation Army’s attempts to profit off of what could be part of a gift economy will not be accepted. Further attempts to surveill us and prosecute us will not be allowed.

Dismantling surveillance cameras is simple—this one was simply torn down by hand, others might need a hammer or metal pole. Like in Greece, and in Santa Cruz, we must strike the panopticon on every front. In the workplace, in the schools, and on the streets. Let the bastards choke on their webs of surveillance, we will never cease our attack on their society.

Attack on TD Bank in Halifax

During the early morning hours of August 13th, the Toronto Dominion (TD) bank on the corner of Quinpool rd. and Monastery lane was rocked by five large stones, taking out several windows. This target was not chosen for any specific reason other than a bank is a recognized symbol of capital.

In solidarity & revolt.

23 Vehicles’ Tires Punctured in Olympia

Vandals punctured the tires on at least 23 vehicles parked downtown, Olympia police reported Monday night.

The tire damage was random with at least two and sometimes four tires on each vehicle punctured. Most of the vehicles were parked within a several block area of from Columbia Street east to Washington Street, then from State Avenue south to 4th Avenue.

The crimes appeared to have taken place sometime between Sunday evening and 5:45 a.m. Monday.

Police Van and Cruiser Firebombed

In plain daylight in the afternoon of August 6th, we firebombed two vehicles belonging to the police. One was a sheriff van parked in front of the courthouse on Main st, located south of Powell st. The other was a police cruiser parked on the south-east corner of Main and Hastings st, it was empty because the pigs were in the middle of conducting an arrest. That afternoon’s gossip in the downtown east side was one of sheer happiness found in the shared appreciation of seeing a sheriff van burn in front of the courthouse doors.

What bliss must have been felt by the people locked inside awaiting their trials in that despicable house of injustice. Those who live in the downtown east side struggle together daily to survive beneath the booming development which continues to exclude them to an existence of poverty and prison.

Along with the police and private security; the courts, sheriffs, and judges continue to enforce the orderly and lawful circulation of commodities and money with limitless social control.

Their complicity is present in the example of development, police repression and prison. They should expect no less than burning vehicles and creative expressions of our contempt.

We hope this act will spark communication and create new relationships of collaboration in struggle.

Our choices move beyond run, hide and prison. There are endless possibilities to be found in the conspiracy of attack.

We chose to act between the days of August 1st-7th because of the call for solidarity by 500+ prisoners in German prisons and around Europe who are on hunger strike. Our love is sent to the comrades who continue to refuse the life of passivity and silence, inside and outside the walls of prison. For the freedom of Amadeu Casellas Ramon, Gabriel Pombo Da Silva, Marcos Comenish, Jose Fernandez Delgado! Freedom for all Prisoners!

May our willingness to revolt spread our crimes of passion through their quiet cities and into the solitude of prison! We are bound to annihilate their prison-world!

Guelph, Ontario: Anarchists paint bomb statue of John Galt

In the wee hours of the morning of August 4 anarchist settlers used a ketchup bottle to apply red metal paint to a statue of John Galt in front of City Hall. August 4 was Guelph’s first ever John Galt Day. The town was awash in festivities and celebrations honouring John Galt and the plan he developed for the founding of the city of Guelph back in 1827. But who is this John Galt character?

R.A.A.N. communique concerning an attack on a Lexington, KY police cruiser

The papers said that on the morning of July 31st, 2008, around 3:40AM, someone threw a molotov cocktail at a police cruiser parked on Lincoln Avenue. Dear readers, it was us. Actually there were two molotovs, and it occurred closer to 3:20AM. And to tell you the truth, it was exceptionally easy! Two 211 bottles full of gasoline and motor oil was all it took. And yes, dear readers, it was fun as hell! I’d have to say that hearing that glass smash on the pavement below the driver’s door, and then witnessing the glorious burst of flame constitutes one of the most satisfying moments of my life. And less than twenty minutes later, we were safe at home smoking a victory joint before laying our sweet heads down to rest. I urge you all, dear readers, to consider our motives for this action, and (more importantly) to plan your own tactics against the oppression of the police state! You can only change history by putting yourself in it.

We are fierce and we are prepared!

Santa Cruz: US Bank Attacked

Yesterday night a rock was pitched through a window at the US Bank in Santa Cruz, California. “Everyone should have a hobby.” Ours happens to be more detrimental to banks, and healthy for ourselves, than most.

We affirm that unfettered joy can be experienced in the act of destroying bank windows, and that this is one of the best reasons to act in such a manner. We also affirm our solidarity with others engaged in the subversion of the world and the transformation of life into a marvelous game without beginning or end.

Solidarity to those facing charges from May Day in Olympia, who are accused of rioting and smashing windows at the US Bank and Bank of America.

Solidarity to all who have sabotaged, destroyed property, or lived on the barricades in resistance to the military use of ports in the Puget Sound.

Solidarity to resistance in Indiana to the construction of I-69 (the NAFTA Superhighway) and to whoever threw rocks through windows at the Chase Bank in Bloomington.

The rebellious spirit is alive and well within us!

Tacoma: Army Recruiting Station Attacked

Get out of Cascadia, or face imminent retaliation.

We will strike again.

Kanesatake Mohawks barricaded Quebec highway following police intervention

The Canadian Press
July 26, 2008

Kanesatake, Que. — Kanesatake Mohawks barricaded a Quebec highway early Saturday following an intervention by the Quebec provincial police.

Police say 12 to 15 individuals blocked Highway 344 near the town of Oka by dragging trees into the road and setting them on fire.

Police contacted the Mohawk band council, who convinced the individuals to end the blockade.

The road was cleared by Quebec Transport Ministry employees by 10 a.m..

Two police vehicles were damaged during the incident.

Charges are expected to be laid against a number of individuals involved in the barricade.

Teens trash 21 Quebec provincial police cruisers

The damage caused to the police vehicles was about $5,000
Imacom, Charles-Antoine Auger

SHERBROOKE, Que. — Two teens were nabbed by police after they managed to trash 21 Quebec provincial police cars in a parking lot early Wednesday.

Sherbrooke police driving by the lot around 1:30 a.m. spotted the 13-year-olds, who smashed windows and mirrors on the cruisers, ripped off windshield wipers and slashed tires. They also tried to burn one car.

Damages are estimated at between $5,000 and $10,000.

The cruisers were parked behind a company which was slated to install new equipment in them.

The teens were charged Wednesday with breaking and entering and mischief.

Another UCLA Van Out Of Action

anonymous report:

“Kudos to whoever lit that UCLA van ablaze a couple of weeks ago. Your action inspired us to look into these vans as well. You were right. They are everywhere.
We effectively removed one of them from it’s location in Riverside county last weekend. The funding that UCLA spent on purchasing this particular van will be redirected to save animals rather than the torturing of monkeys that UCLA is doing. Awashed in shame and the blood of innocents UCLA will continue to be held accountable. Hopefully by a rapidly growing number of people doing whtever it takes. Activists: GET OUT THERE!!!”

Santa Cruz: ATMs Broken At Wells Fargo

On July 21st all four ATMs were smashed at the River St Wells Fargo in Santa Cruz California. This minor act of sabotage was committed in solidarity with all those kidnapped, detained, and deported in the United States.

Wells Fargo is one of the top five shareholders in the GEO Group, a private prison corporation that runs the Northwest Detention Center in Tacoma Washington, where nearly 1000 people are imprisoned every day for the crime of being undocumented.

ICE is the foremost domestic terrorist organization in North America—this is not an exaggeration, the terror and panic sown by ICE raids in immigrant communities is unparalleled. ICE are the henchmen of Capital: a work force that can be constantly threatened with deportation and therefore brutally exploited is a major triumph for capitalism.

Wells Fargo is one of the major gears this relationship between Capital and the State. But even if Wells Fargo wasn’t funding the GEO Group, some other bank would be. And even if banks weren’t funding prisons, they would still be perpetuating the system that gives us no options other than to be exploited or go to jail. Like the government, the bank takes the “money” that represents your daily activity (work) and uses it to create conditions that further disempower and dispossess you, in a vicious cycle that grows worse and worse every day. Capital is the name for all the dead bodies and stolen lives of the past that are fuel for the machines that crush and grind the living. Refusal and non-participation is a good place to start, but it is necessary to actively destroy the system.

When la migra comes to our communities, we will fight back. When Capital offers wage slavery and imprisonment as the only two options, we will rebel.

Olympia: Wells Fargo Financial Office Attacked

IN SOLIDARITY WITH THOSE IMPRISONED AT I.C.E. DETENTION CENTERS AROUND THE COUNTRY:

To the businessmen who rot behind desks at the Wells Fargo Financial office in Olympia,

Last night we attacked your storefront and spray painted a letter of hatred on your wall as an assault on your participation in the prison-industrial complex. The company you work for is a major stockholder in the GEO Group, owners of private concentration camps around the globe, including a rather infamous one in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. The GEO Group also owns the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Northwest Detention Center, located in Tacoma, WA, an institution which imprisons hundreds of human beings each year for indefinite periods of time, rips families apart, and ruins lives. This cannot continue.

To those who use their jobs as an excuse to aid the transformation of the world into a complex of prisons:
YOU ARE NO LONGER SAFE.

Truck Burned Over Vancouver Olympics Highway

A truck belonging to the construction company Peter Kiewit Sons’ was torched on Tuesday, July 22 in response to the company’s involvement in widening the Sea to Sky Highway in unceded Coast Salish territory (illegally occupied by the Canadian government as “British Columbia”).

The highway is being expanded to accommodate increased traffic for the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, and has drawn intense opposition on both ecological and social grounds.

A wide variety of direct actions, from protest to sabotage, continue to take place in opposition to the colonialism inherent in the 2010 Olympics. This is not the first time that Kiewit has been targeted: In May, another truck was burned after Kiewit called on police to break up a land occupation that had been obstructing work on the highway.

“PK+S constructs the spaces that house many institutions of physical as well as social control, including air force and navy operations centers, mines, dams, highways, and industrial nuclear experimentation facilities. This act, for us, was an attack against repression and those who construct its systems,” that communiqué read.

Regarding the most recent action, the anonymous warriors said:

Full Communique:

in the early morning of tuesday july 22nd 2008 a truck belonging to peter kiewit and sons parked off of victoria drive was lit on fire. kiewit is making a(nd) killing off of the development of the sea to sky highway. this highway development, along with the new high speed train line linking the airport to downtown, and the construction of new powerlines through tsawwassen communities, is paving the way for an intensification of development, resource extraction, tourism, ecological devastation and repression. progress is a weapon used by the rich to impose the resulting misery of their projects upon our lives. this action was done in solidarity with people attacking capitalist projects everywhere, from six nations and their battles in ontario to the people who made “deep cuts” in the new powerline poles and threatened developers with crowbars in tsawwassen. we are at war and our promise to developers and the pigs that protect them, their projects, and world is simple: as long as you build alienation and exploitation into our lives and territory we will not hesitate to consume your nightmares with our fire!

Trio charged with arson in Abbotsford condo blaze

By Rochelle Baker – Abbotsford News [British Columbia]
Published: July 22, 2008

Three suspects have been arrested and charged with arson in connection to the fire that reduced a section of Abbotsford condo complex to ashes last Tuesday.

Danielle Toplass, Jason Read and Angela Arkesteyn-Vogler are each facing three counts of arson for the blaze that destroyed a four-storey building under construction at The Crossing real estate development in the 33500 block of Marshall Road.

The three were arrested sometime over the weekend by Abbotsford Police.

The fire also badly charred a family home immediately next to the development, leaving a single dad and his three kids homeless.

Damage from the fire is estimated to be in the millions of dollars.

Flames from the blaze shot more than 30 metres into the night sky and could be seen by residents all over the city.

Radiant heat of the fire was so intense it cracked windows of the Gateway professional building along Marshall Road.

The Tempo condominium complex opposite on Holland Avenue also suffered damage to its windows and doors.

Trees, telephone and hydro poles, and shrubbery along the Marshall just west of McCallum were completely scorched.

Residents from surrounding apartment buildings, homes and businesses were evacuated – some until the early hours of the morning.

More than 100 firefighters from all seven of the city’s firehalls were called out.

Mission and Chilliwack fire departments were put on alert to cover the area.

No residents were hurt in the blaze, but four firefighters suffered injuries.

The only thing remaining of the structure was the charred concrete block elevator shaft rising up from blackened beams.

One- and two-bedroom units at The Crossing were being pre-sold and advertised on the Internet, ranging from $160,000 to close to $278,000.

The complex was advertised to be ready by fall. Phase one and two of the project were already sold out.

As many as 1,300 other area residents lost telephone service after the fire burned two cable lines.

The three suspects are scheduled to next appear in Abbotsford provincial court July 24.

Direct Action to commemorate the beginning of the Spanish Civil War the right way…

<!–

–>

July 19th is the anniversary of the beginning of the Spanish Civil War in 1936 — the beginning of the last significant attempt at an anti-capitalist revolution in the period of revolutions that began in Mexico in 1915 and accelerated after the Russian Revolution of 1917. The revolutionary movement in Spain was defeated by a counter-revolution spearheaded by the Stalinist Soviet Union and it’s global puppets and public relations hacks. (See George Orwells’s ‘Homage to Catalonia’ for the best brief introduction to the events surrounding the revolution and counter-revolution in Spain.)

A public art work celebrating the role played by the Abraham Lincoln Battalion, the US dupes of and cannon fodder for the Stalinist counter-revolution in Spain from 1936 to 1939, was dedicated this past May on San Francisco’s Embarcadero, behind the fountain on Justin Herman Plaza at the foot of Market Street. Sometime this past week, some person or persons unknown gave this monument to the one of the big lies of 20th century history an appropriate makeover. The Stalinist art work was grafittied with the message, “Viva Durruti Y Orwell,” in what appears to be red and black spray paint.

‘Thank You’ Letter From Pitch Pipe Infoshop

To the anonymous ninjas,Us here at the Pitch Pipe Infoshop would like to thank you from the very bottom of our hearts for removing the surveillance camera that was pointed at our house. You are beautiful and amazing, whoever you are. We are all extremely grateful for your vigilance in defending our community from the onslaught of the police state.

The government wants us all under their thumbs. They want all of us to be in our right place; going to work, being trapped in school, rotting in prison, doing nothing that they do not want us to do. We are forbidden from living. The government wants to render us into soulless, empty shells, acting as nothing more than carriers for capital and resources. Our forests are as expendable as we are to them. And so that none their slaves may rebel, they cover our streets with cameras and police cruisers. They wish to destroy every free space still in existence. They wish to see everything so that they may stop what is most dangerous to them: LIFE.

Whoever destroyed the camera destroyed a small piece of the government’s grand design for us. They took a swing at the panopticon and made off with one of its eyes. Let there be thousands more of these acts. Together, let’s smash their horrible machine to pieces.

In love, love, love…

Pitch Pipe Infoshop

PS: If you can, please make information about the stolen camera public so everyone can know what they were using against us.

Vancouver Action: Solidarity with Six Nations/Brantford Occupation and Against Development

[Posted by Anonymous on July 17, 2008, to friendsofgrassynarrows.com]

On the night of Monday, July 14th, east of the Abbotsford-Mission Bridge (near Vancouver) thick copper wire was placed across the train tracks, connecting two rails to mimic a blockage and hopefully disrupting train traffic for hours. This is a strategic place because it is a bottle neck of three major train lines.

Since Thursday, July 9th people from Six Nations Reserve occupied four construction site in Brantford, Ontario in an ongoing campaign to stop development in their territory.

On Monday morning, the 14th,police tried to escort work trucks back on to one construction site. They arrested one person from the occupation when people refused to allow the trucks to pass. The construction site is the project of Ireland based Kingspan Insulation and is still shut down due to a steadfast occupation.

We disrupted the tracks because they are, along with highways, the main arteries of the economy, transporting the building blocks of development. In “British Columbia,” we are seeing rapid development build the projects of the rich, ushered along by the investment craze of the 2010 Olympics.

We did this in solidarity with those whose struggle poses a credible threat to the stability of the Canadian state. If our solidarity is expansive, disruptive and targeted, we can further our own fight for freedom while strengthening others.

Arsonist targets Hamilton Wal-Mart

By THE CANADIAN PRESS
July 15, 2008

HAMILTON [Ontario] — A suspected firebug struck a Hamilton Wal-Mart over the weekend, with three fires breaking out at the store in as many days.

The fires have caused more than $11,000 in damages since the first one on Friday in the men’s bathroom. There was a small fire late Saturday in the menswear area of the store.

Emergency crews were called Sunday when towels in the housewares section were ignited. Police said staff were able to put the small fire out.

“We believe they’re connected,” said Det. Marco DelConte, an arson investigator with Hamilton police.

50 Turkeys Liberated For Sarah Whitehead

“Animal liberation volunteers are claiming responsibility for the direct intervention in the animal farming industry, as an act of solidarity with Sarah Whitehead who is currently behind bars for doing the right thing. While Sarah remains locked in her cell for freeing animals from pain and misery, volunteers successfully liberated 50 Turkeys from an Eastern factory farm.

This action means these sentient beings were spared from constant suffering, their lives destined to be cut short with the blade of slaughterhouse machinery. Anti-Gentrification Action in Santa Cruz

Anti-Gentrification Action in Santa Cruz
by Neighborhood Watch
Monday Jul 14th, 2008 7:14 PM

On the 4th of July, amidst the tourist frenzy and sounds of fireworks, at least 8 windows were broken on a condominium that is being built in the lower Ocean neighborhood.

<!–

–>

The homes that once stood there housed primarily Latino families. These families were evicted to make way for more expensive housing. This type of development raises the property values, which in turn, forces out more low-income and working poor people from the area. It is a clear example of gentrification in our town.

We will continue to attack the sites of gentrification when and where we see them.

Four More Direct Actions Target I-69

A number of actions have taken place recently against the NAFTA Superhighway I-69, a Corridor of the Future:

June 23; Kalamazoo, MI: Protesters bearing drums and whistles paraded through the offices of DLZ Corporation, an engineering firm involved in I-69 construction and planning.

June 24; Hicksville, NY: An office of HNTB at 40 Commerce Pl. was found to have its windows and front door covered in paint, with messages spray-painted all over the front and sides: “Deal with I-69, Deal with Us.” The locks on the front and back doors were glued shut. The windows could not be cleaned, as the paint was etched into the glass.

On the morning of Tuesday June 24, employees of HNTB arrived at their Hicksville, NY office to find the building defaced with spray paint. DEAL WITH I-69 DEAL WITH US was written across the front of the building. When they went to the front door, the lock was glued and the door was covered in paint. They walked around to the back and the back doors were glued too. Other slogans were painted on the sides of the building and all the windows were covered in paint. They called the locksmith to break in for them and then called the cleaning people. The cleaning crew told them there was nothing they could do about the windows, the paint was etched into the glass.

June 24; Evansville, IN: The River City Animal Defense league visited an office of Bernardin-Lockmueller and Associates (BLA), the company responsible for planning the entire route of I-69. Denied entrance to the building, the protesters banged on windows and shouted through an intercom, and a window on the building was smashed. The group released a communique with this message to BLA:

“We know you’ve been targeted in the past, but since construction has recently begun- expect more chaos and aggression directed at your company and the workers that make what you do possible. Next
time maybe we’ll pay your homes a visit, because we know where you live and we know what you do…. Let this be a call for others to take action against this highway which not only effects Indiana, but the entire continents of North, Central, and South America. Those of us who have the privilege of being North
American must use our privilege to fight for a world where the Global South is no longer exploited by capitalism.”

June 25; Haubstadt, IN: Protesters shut down a work yard of Gohmann Asphalt and Construction — the company building the first 1.77 miles of Interstate 69 north of Evansville — for 3.5 hours. One person stopped a truck exiting the site, giving others time to let the air out of the vehicles tires then lock onto it both below and above. They were soon joined by a crowd chanting and holding signs.

One person was arrested for allegedly letting the air out of the tires, but the other protesters negotiated with police to be released without being arrested or even identified.

Now is the time to decisively stop I-69! Contact Roadblock Earth First! to join the struggle today!

Ontario: Mining Corporation Bombed

On Canada Day morning bombs made with gas cans and timed incendiaries were left along with a warning painted on the wall at the office of Frontenac Ventures Corporation in Oakville. This is a mining company one of whose projects is uranium mining in the area of Sharbot Lake. Despite local opposition by native and non-native peoples they continue to destroy territory and lives that they have no claim to.

A variety of peaceful methods have been utilized in the attempt at stopping this company’s project resulting in ongoing court cases and continued uranium exploration.
This company is one of many whose projects and profit demand the destruction of land and displacement of its people.
We see in all situation of resistance such as this that neither government nor company care to listen to these peaceful methods and so we hope they’ll hear this one.

Fight against Gentrification continues in Halifax

In the early morning of July 2nd, a condominium on South Street was attacked by Anarchists. Though in a wealthier area of Halifax, a condo is still a condo and must be fought wherever they are built. Windows were smashed with rocks and the side attacked with paint bombs. It’s time we all take a stand against these gentrifying giants. If you build it, we will come!!

I-69 Planner’s Office Sabotaged in Illinois

According to a communiqué, a Maryille, IL office of Bernardin, Lochmueller, & Associates (BLA, the company responsible for planning the entire route of I-69) was sabotaged on the morning of June 30:

This morning, the owners of [BLA] in Maryville, Illinois were popping aspirins to deal with their headaches. Maybe the underlings enjoyed the day off. The company car had all four tires slashed, headlights, windows, and mirrors busted out, and paint job ruined. The office building had its locks glued, windows smashed, and exterior painted with ‘187 ON I-69′ and ‘THE FRONTLINE IS EVERYWHERE.’

Wherever capitalists maneuver to increase their wealth and power, there we find a target for our anger. I-69, the NAFTA Superhighway, is nothing more than a channel for the flow of profit from the backs of working people into the pockets of the rich.

This time around the surveyors got it. Two of the three BLA locations have been sabotaged.

Next Exit?

We attacked a Chevy dealership in the west end of Toronto on the night of the 24th. At least 13 vehicles were damaged or destroyed with fire.
Chevy, Buick and Pontiac are all owned by General Motors. With the impending downsizing of operations at GM plants in Ontario, we hope workers will respond using similar methods. We did this because GM is an official sponsor of the 2010 Olympic games.
Fuck the Olympics!

Police are investigating an explosion and fire that damaged at least 13 vehicles at a west-end car dealership early this morning.

Just before 3 a.m., firefighters and police responded to reports of an explosion at West York Chev-Olds, on St. Clair Ave. W. at Old Weston Rd.

Firefighters quickly doused flames from nine vehicles parked in the dealership’s front lot and four vehicles in the back lot, said Toronto fire spokesperson Stephan Powell.

All of the vehicles were burning in the engine compartment except for one van, which had flames coming from the rear, Powell said.

Dealership general manager Chris Seedhouse said he was awoken by a call from the fire department around 4 a.m.

He said the company has never experienced an incident like this before, and “we’ve been in business for 63 years at that location.”

The dealership did not have video surveillance, he added.

Seedhouse said damage cause by the fire is estimated at between $200,000 and $250,000.

The Ontario Fire Marshal has been called in to investigate, a standard protocol when police believe criminal activity is involved, said Powell. “It looks suspicious to us,” he added.

Powell said it was too early to tell whether a fire started in one vehicle and spread to others, or if each fire was started separately.

No injuries were reported.

Interstate 69 Profiteers Targeted

On Tuesday, June 24th in Evansville, Indiana, the resistance continued to grow in the fight against the capitalist wet dream called I-69. We visited the office of Bernardin- Lockmueller and Associates (BLA), who are responsible for planning the entire supposed route for the interstate. Seeing as they’ve been targeted before, we attempted to enter with a nicely dressed decoy. However, their fear took hold of them and they immediately pushed our comrade out and locked the doors. So we banged on windows, and shouted at them through the intercom. In the commotion a window was smashed. Which is nothing compared to the destruction that I-69 will cause, but perhaps gave our enemy a taste of the terror they force daily on the earth. To the terrorists at BLA:
We know you’ve been targeted in the past, but since construction has recently begun- expect more chaos and aggression directed at your company and the workers that make what you do possible. Next
time maybe we’ll pay your homes a visit, because we know where you live and we know what you do. As I-69 continues its development, so does our anger and dedication to standing in your way. Our numbers are constantly growing. We will not let you build your road.

We must stop allowing the destructive forces of capitalism and civilization to ruin our lives, our communities, and this earth. Let this be a call for others to take action against this highway which not only effects Indiana, but the entire continents of North, Central, and South America. Those of us who have the privilege of being North American must use our privilege to fight for a world where the Global South is no longer exploited by capitalism.

DVC police office destroyed by arson

by crap
Tuesday Jun 24th, 2008 3:00 AM

3 separate incendiary devices ignited overnight to completely destroy the offices of the Diablo Valley College police.

In a bold move against the growing police state, anonymous individuals in Pleasant Hill, California, have set fire to the offices of the Diablo Valley College police department.
The fire was first reported at 2:25 am. Four engines, one truck and about 20 firefighters later and the blaze was finally put out, but not after completely destroying the lobby of the building, and making the structure unusable.
The police services, an actual law enforcement department, patrols several campuses within the Contra Costa Community College District, but is based at DVC. Initial estimates show about $250,000 in damage was done to the structure, as well as $75,000 to the contents inside the office.
In other countries, police are not allowed to set foot on college campuses. Yet in the United States, college bureaucrats welcome these armed thugs, hoping that they will keep the youth in line and prevent student revolts from taking place. With schools increasingly looking like prisons, we can only hope for more acts of resistance.
As of yet, the police have named no suspects. unfortunately, the police department will still be able to function, though with less comfort. They will now be working out of a conference room in the business and foreign language department. They must now also work with the knowledge that there is a passion of resistance growing around them.

Anti-I-69 Office Demo at the Indiana Department of Natural Resources

On the afternoon of June 23, an crowd of people enraged over the eviction of the anti-I-69 treesit stormed the office of the Indiana Department of Natural Resources in Bloomington, Indiana. The IDNR was complicit in the eviction of the treesit and endangerment of the treesitters’ lives by providing climbers to pull the sitters out of their lofty perch. The IDNR keeps climbers on staff specifically to evict treesits, even though they haven’t used them in years.

The crowd charged through the doors of the office, pushing papers off desks, smashing a potted plant, and generally yelling, chanting, whistling and causing a disruption. The workers seemed annoyed and confused and claimed they had nothing to do with the eviction. One person tried to speak reason to them and explain their role in the eviction. People left fairly quickly, as it seemed likely that the cops had been called. One woman across the street cheered on the crowd, holding her fist in the air.

Just as the tree sit was just one action against the NAFTA superhighway, so too was this office demo. We must confront the authorities on our own terms, and we must keep them on their toes. We are not waiting for the time to strike, but plotting and preparing. As one chant heard in Bloomington says, “You can put our friends in jail, but we will drive the final nail!”

Green Capitalism Attacked in Santa Cruz

Inspired by the recent actions of solidarity happening in Santa Cruz, we decided to actualize our discontent and outrage at the disgusting lie that green-capitalism tells us: that there is such thing as sustainable industry. Thus our local green-capitalist home furnishing center, “Greenspace,” got a landscaping rock thrown through its window. And how great it felt to hear the giant plate glass shatter along with the illusion that commerce is invulnerable to our attacks. It was so easy it makes us giddy to think that such an act is infinitely reproducible. Not an hour out of our lives was wasted. A pair of gloves and a couple medium-sized rocks (along with a burning desire to cease our everyday acquiescence) is all it takes.

Certainly a rock is not going to stop the destructive forces of capitalism, but the empowerment that comes in the form of gained confidence as well as cathartic release is priceless. Let each rock thrown become a stepping stone to greater and bolder actions.

We dedicate this action in solidarity with the Earth and all it’s living creatures. Don’t let the enemies of life on this planet claim to you that your dollars can change the destructiveness of industry. Call them out on their blatant lies and fight until capitalism lies in ruins!

UCSC ATMs Attacked in Santa Cruz!

Evening of June 14. As part of an ongoing local and international momentum of revolutionary solidarity with social prisoners as well as POWs of ecological struggles, the Bank of America and Wells Fargo ATMs on the University of California Santa Cruz campus had their screens smashed by a chunk of granite.Evening of June 14. As part of an ongoing local and international momentum of revolutionary solidarity with social prisoners as well as POWs of ecological struggles, the Bank of America and Wells Fargo ATMs on the University of California Santa Cruz campus had their screens smashed by a chunk of granite.

Wells Fargo is a major funder of the GEO Group, which runs Guantanamo Bay, the Northwest ICE Detention Center, and numerous other jails and prisons. Bank of America funds Peabody Coal, which is blasting the tops of mountains in Appalachia and strip-mining indigenous land in Arizona, as well as poisoning the air we breath. Banks fund these industrial atrocities with the money that they suck from your paycheck, your savings, your debts.

Revolutionary solidarity means seeing the links between our misery at having to participate in capitalism and the oppression of other human beings and the natural world, the links between their struggles and our rebellion. It means smashing the screens that surround us on every side, and creating breaks in the walls of those in deeper dungeons than us so that they can have a little air to breath. It means fighting for those imprisoned by trying to create a revolution that will destroy all prisons, especially the one that confines us all and that condemned them to the penitentiary in the first place.

This summer will see broken ATM screens and bank windows across Santa Cruz, the West Coast, Europe, and the Americas. Perhaps you will be one of those smashing them, on your own or with a few close friends. When the bank forecloses your house, evicts you from your apartment, takes the last money you need for food, what will you do? What will you do when a wild place you love is destroyed by those the bank supports, or by the University of California? What will you do when a friend or loved one, or anyone you identify with, is locked up in jail? What will you do?

Lit UCLA Van

anonymous communique:

“At the start of last week, in Irvine, CA, a van owned by UCLA went up in flames.
For all of those affected you have the UCLA primate vivisection program to blame.
It is unacceptable for us to see, hear, and know what is going on in our animal labs without taking action. Every time we pass someone like Arthur in the hallways and have to witness his stomach churning grin or watch Joaquin double checking the door locks on his little red Mercedes we have to choke back a crippling amount of disgust and hatred. It is becoming almost impossible to hold back. Then we hear the monkeys wailing and screaming and we find the strength to stay put. We are driven to show the world the compassionless support that UCLA gives to these monkey killers and to do anything we can to end the needless suffering that the primates are forced to face. The end of UCLA vivisection is coming. We urge you to start switching over to non-animal protocol without haste.

Santa Cruz: Courthouse Windows Smashed

Shortly after midnight on Friday the 13th of June, the Santa Cruz County Courthouse experienced not bad luck, but a deliberate act of revolt. Inspired by recent actions in the area and the struggles of others around the world, river rocks were thrown through two plate glass windows. The breaking of windows was a moment of sheer joy for us. We’d like to dedicate them to every prisoner and detainee who has been forced to undergo the dehumanizing farce of cold Justice, but especially to these specific comrades:Eric McDavid, currently in Fresno County Jail, recently sentenced to nearly 20 years imprisonment for a “conspiracy” that never carried out any actions. Daring to trust (in the wrong people, in Eric’s case) and discuss the possibility of acting is one of the greatest crimes of all in this day and age. May we all commit such crimes, and realize them as well.

Marie Mason, the latest target of the Fed’s “Green Scare,” accused of ELF arsons against the University of Michigan’s genetic engineering program. The government may have captured one brave person and attempted to isolate her, but there are innumerable people who are willing to strike in solidarity with people they’ve never met.

Daniel McGowan, just transfered to Columbia County Jail in Portage Wisconsin, possibly facing a grand jury subpoena. He had the courage to take a plea bargain for ELF arsons he committed without snitching on those he acted with, and surely will continue to maintain his integrity. We honor Sadie, Exile, and Jonathan Paul as well for remaining silent as well in the Operation Backfire case.

Leonard Peltier, indigenous warrior framed for the 1975 killing of two FBI Agents who invaded in Oglala territory, serving two life sentences in prison. Despite widespread demand for his freedom, the United States persists in keeping this prisoner of war behind bars. His lawyers have again appealed his case in the Eighth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals.

John Graham, indigenous land defender from the Yukon facing “South Dakota Justice for Indians” (aka lynch mob) this September for the 1975 murder of fellow warrior Anna Mae Pictou Aquash, which the FBI originally tried to cover up. Anna Mae’s death occured in the context of over 76 Government-sanctioned murders on Pine Ridge Reservation in the span of three years (1973 to 1976), as well as the FBI’s intensive COINTEL (counter-intelligence) Program designed to destroy native resistance. The prosecution of John Graham now is a continuation of the colonialist governments of Canada and the US attempting to turn native people against one another and accept colonial rule.

Mohawk warriors of Tyendinaga and Six Nations who have fought for their sovereignty, and after going through numerous trials in the colonial Canadian courts being have recently been served another 12 arrest warrants.

Rioters in Olympia Washington, facing lengthy jail time for throwing rocks through bank windows on May Day.

Lukas Winkler, Stephanie Trager, and Sven Maurer: squatters in Munich sentenced to 5 years imprisonment each for throwing rocks at cops to defend their home, convicted by the German State of the absurd charge of “attempted murder.”

Isa, Farid, Damien, Bruno and Ivan of France, accused of “possessing explosives” (smoke bombs) and “criminal association with terrorist ends.” Smoke bombs and fireworks have been set off throughout France in revolutionary solidarity with these comrades captured by the French State, continuing and expanding their struggle against all prisons and detention centers.

And lastly, but not least, for you reading this text, and for every rebel who may one day be imprisoned for the crime of freedom. May every courthouse window be smashed, every prison wall broken. May all of us then run free.

anarchists attack wells fargo in tacoma, wa

some time last night wells fargo was attacked from two sides and had many of their windows smashed. the message “stop prisons” was spray painted on one side of the building. this was done due to wells fargo being one of the top share holders of geo group. geo group is responsible for the operations of many prisons, juvinile detention centers, and imigration detention centers. including one in guantanamo bay, Cuba. geo group operates the I.C.E detention center in tacoma, washington. this detention center imprisons up to 1000 people any givin day and has locked people their, away from their families and friends, often times far exceading 3 years. this action is in solidarity with all struggle against deportation and the displacement of human beings internationaly. this is in solidarity with the simular attacks on wells fargo in portland, oregon. this is just one way of many to resist these intitutions that wish to control our freedom to move. obviously this is not the only way. as more walls go up, as more detention centers are built, reistance of all sorts will be needed in defeating these monsters.

NAG kidnaps Santa

We are the Nihilist Assault Group, otherwise known as NAG. We are anarchists who believe in everything and nothing and thus can be classified, if you like, as nihilists. NAG is every broken window, every shadow against your wall, every creak in your stairs, every ghost under your bed. NAG is everywhere.

On the night of June 9, 2008, NAG traveled to the North Pole, kidnapped Santa Claus and several of his elvish cohorts, drained their blood and then cast that red and green blood against a seven story golden building in Downtown Olympia. NAG also spread a bucket of Santa’s blood on one of the new sidewalks the city has created.

It is rumored that the targeted golden building may or may not be converted into condos in the near future. Regardless, everyone in Olympia hates this building and we wished to provide the opening salvo in the NAG “campaign to prevent gentrification”. The building is located where the future condos will be placed and should provide a small glimpse as to what will take place if this insane development plan continues on its course. NAG is perfectly willing to murder Santa Claus and should thus be feared.

Weeks earlier, some daring artists who have no affiliation with NAG threw up a few pieces on the roof and sides of the golden building. These pieces were later covered up with brown paint. Cheers to the daredevils!

NAG also spread Santa’s blood on a new sidewalk in Downtown Olympia. The city built these new sidewalks (rather than homeless shelters) in order to raise the property value of the area around these sidewalks. Let the blood of Santa forever degrade the property value of Olympia!

NAG is not affiliated with any group, organization or project in Olympia other than NAG. Everyone hates NAG. We are perfectly content with this and prefer it that way. It is not everyone who has the courage to ruin Christmas.

NAG will strike again!

Halifax: Anarchists attack luxury condo development

During the early morning hours of Saturday, June 7th we expressed our discontent by attacking the gentrifuckers invading our neighborhood. A number of windows were smashed by rocks at the Cunard st. condo development, easily constructed paint bombs (light bulbs, filled with paint and sealed with duct tape)
were thrown against the building to draw attention to the attack. Fuck apathy, bring on the ruckus!

Olympia: City Councilman’s Business Paintbombed

Dear Jeff Kingsbury and other really bad people,On the night of June 6th, a bunch of us kids traveled to the port-a-potty behind the Salvation Army. We filled 5 light bulbs with shit, carried them over to Jeff Kingsbury’s Capital Playhouse, and covered his marquee in human feces.

We felt it was appropriate to use that particular batch of feces, given that the people who voided it are the same people Jeff Kingsbury does not give a shit about: those with little, those with none, those trying to have something, those who have given up.

Jeff, you have always been a slimy politician. We watched you condemn Camp Quixote (Olympia’s tent city) and then praise it when the time was right. We have watched you do whatever it took to appear to be on the side of the good people: us. But you are not, Jeff. You are arrogant enough to assume you can represent the kids of Olympia and you are foolish enough to attempt to destroy our playground.

We will not quiet down for you and your masters, the people who are giving you money to ruin our town. We will ignore the noise ordinance you are attempting to shove down our throats. We will make sure you pay the price for meddling in things it is best to leave alone.

On the night of June 6th, we also climbed onto one of our jungle gyms and painted something. We painted it on the wall of building which will be replaced by the proposed condos. We painted the words YOUR CONDOS ARE NOTHING MORE THAN OUR CANVAS (A). This phrase is the first thing people will see upon descending the bridge into downtown. Unfortunately, Jeff, no one likes you. And everyone likes us. We will win.

We are the children of Olympia. We are the Nihilist Assault Group, otherwise known as NAG. We are anarchists who will never obey any authority, even the authority of other anarchists, and thus can be classified, if you like, as nihilists. NAG is the child they attempted to silence. NAG is the fire alarm pulled during class. NAG is the burning school and the clogged toilet. NAG is everywhere.

NAG is not affiliated with any group, organization or project in Olympia other than NAG. Everyone hates NAG. We are perfectly content with this and prefer it that way. It is not everyone who has the courage to fling feces.

NAG will strike again!

-Nihilist Assault Group

A self-proclaimed nihilist group hurled paint-filled lightbulbs at a business owned by Jeff Kingsbury, then posted its opposition to his political views on an anarchist Web site, the Olympia city councilman said today.

Kingbury said he cleaned up the damage to his business, Capital Playhouse, in downtown Olympia Monday morning. The vandals used brown paint, not feces, as they claimed in a post on the Web site Infoshop News. The vandals did attempt to super-glue the locks to the doors of the business, however, Kingsbury said.

The post by a group, calling itself the Nihilist Assault Group, took credit for the vandalism. The post took issue with Kingsbury’s perceived support of the development downtown condominiums and his initial opposition to Camp Quixote, a tent city for the homeless.

“We will make sure you pay the price for meddling in things it is best to leave alone,” part of the post reads. It can be viewed at http://news.infoshop.org/article.php?story=20080707170605657

Kingsbury said that he has not yet taken a position on a proposal to increase building-height limits that would allow Triway Enterprises to build proposed five- and seven-story mixed-use buildings on the waterfront.

Kingsbury said he’s annoyed, but will not let the vandalism influence his political positions on downtown condos or anything else.

“I’m alarmed that there are people that believe that this is acceptable political discourse,” Kingsbury said. “It isn’t.”

He said those responsible for the vandalism are putting their message across the wrong way.

“People who want to have a conversation with you look you in the eye,” Kingsbury said. “This was an act of cowardice.”

Anarchists Attack Wells Fargo In Portland

IN the closing hour of June 4, the Wells Fargo on 39th and Powell in Portland, Oregon was attacked. A window pane was smashed in with a rock. This action is in solidarity with all those imprisoned in the ICE detention centers in the U.S. and all those imprisoned and oppressed by the industrial capitalist economy. Wells Fargo funds the GEO group, which runs the Guantanamo Bay detention center as well as the ICE immigration detention center in Tacoma, Washington. All banks serve the interests of the capitalist class, furthering exploitation of “resources” and indigenous people around the world. We are fighting for the destruction of this society and our own liberation from this world of banks, cops, prisons, poisoned water and air, and rapidly shrinking wild spaces.

Resist everywhere!

Tacoma Condos Paintbombed And Tagged

Over the past several days, a massive campaign of vandalism has been waged against development in Tacoma. Several condos, construction sites and overpriced restaurants catering to condo dwellers have been tagged in the Hilltop and Stadium districts. Phrases such as YUPPIES BEWARE (A) and BURN THIS DOWN were painted. One specific condo complex was paint bombed on several sides. While the general population of Tacoma feels the pinch of high gas and food prices, while the homeless population awaits the closure of the lone shelter in Hilltop, the developers continue to build, build, build. This situation is untenable.

This campaign was done in solidarity with the disenfranchised population of Tacoma and everyone who is fighting development, greed and dispossession across the world.

We would request that others in Tacoma, Seattle, Olympia, Portland and in every other city this communique reaches begin similar or better campaigns against development. It takes little effort. Let us use our energy wisely and not squander it.

As we are poor, any ally with a camera is encouraged to take pictures of our work and post them on the internet.

3 Mc Donalds Attacked

On the afternoon of may 31, 3 Mc Donalds were attacked in Victoria BC. We cemented shut the pipes, disabling the toilets in the bathroom stalls, requiring their replacement at all 3 locations. We did this in response to their involvement as a sponsor of the 2010 olympic circus. We need to fight the games any and every way we can. JOIN THE OLYMPIC RESISTANCE.

six surveillance cameras destroyed at UC Santa Cruz

Over the last week, we took out six surveillance cameras from the exteriors of four different buildings on the University of California in Santa Cruz campus. This was an act of rebellion to the social control in our daily lives. These cameras are the eyes of the police.

This task was easy to accomplish, and would be easy for anyone to reproduce. We checked out the camera locations in advance, and came back at night for the attack. We found a few steel barbed-wire fence posts nearby and pulled them up. With just one strike, the cameras broke right off of the walls they were bolted to. We cut the cords (when they didn’t just break on their own), bagged them up and took them with us.

There has been a rapid expansion of surveillance technology that affects all of us. From the consolidation of international databases for tracking and monitoring individuals to the placement of cameras in every intersection. From the magnetic card readers at many of the dorms and buildings on the UCSC campus that track and log information on students entering and exiting (which has been used in students’ arrests in the past), to the militarization of the borders, preventing our ability to travel and migrate freely, contributing to the organizing of the global economy to the whims of the bosses. There are limitless examples of the pervasiveness of social control technology both locally and globally. There is also a growing resistance.

For the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece, the entire city was completely covered with surveillance cameras. Locals there have been attacking them consistently since they were installed, vowing to continue until every last one was destroyed. Like the Athenians, we will not rest until we eliminate every single one we can find.

We live in a panopticon, where the society we live in is modeled after prison. Information is constantly being collected about us, and the threat of being monitored is ever-present. Those in more precarious positions experience this intensely. Undocumented people who were fortunate enough to make it into this country face a continuous threat of raids, indefinite detention and/or deportation by the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (also sinisterly known as I.C.E.).

This action is dedicated to those affected by the recent immigration raids in Watsonville, a town just south of Santa Cruz. These raids were part of a nationally coordinated attack on immigrants, with a notable concentration around the Bay Area of California. We invite people everywhere to rise up against every form of social control that affects their lives.

FUCK I.C.E! SPREAD THE REBELLION AGAINST SOCIAL CONTROL!

Another RBC (Royal Bank of Canada) hit by Anarchists (Vancouver Coast Salish Territories)

On the night of May 12/13, we smashed at the RBC on Broadway and Yukon. One more contribution to the increasingly “unmanageable” anti-olympics resistance, Tom Quiggin this ones for you.For those of you who don’t get the above reference we are referring to the recent security document publish by Tom Quiggin (http://friendsofgrassynarrows.com/item.php?802F). In this document he warns that the small actions that have been multiplying over the last year amount to a potential new terrorist threat.

We believe that this small amount of revolt can become a threat to the 2010 corporate agenda. Not because of the actions in themselves but because for every one of us who picks up a match or a stone, there are many more with just as much contempt for this world of profits and prisons, who are just as eager as we are to escape from the graveyard of submission.

In the document Quiggin makes special note of the reference to individuals such as the heads of Bell & RBC in the communications of other recent actions. He hints that this is a sign that we and our allies are developing terrorist tactics. Tom, you bastard, you and all of the other pigs of this world cooperate in terrorizing us every day of the week. Doing your best to keep us down while your system and all those who profit from it continue sucking us dry, spewing poisons into the precious earth, commit genocide of traditional indigenous people and attacking anyone who struggles to live outside and against your established order.
Their forces of repression are very strong, but our passion for freedom is much stronger.
LETS CONTINUE TO STEP UP THE OFFENSIVE. FOR A WORLD WITHOUT PRIVILEDGE & PRISONS! FOR ANARCHY!!!

2010 Construction Company Vehicle Attacked

May 7 Coast Salish Territories (Vancouver):
Truck belonging to Kiewitt & Sons lit on fire.

posted to friends of grassy narrows website by anonymous on Thursday, May 8th at 4:43 PM

On the night of May 7, 2008 we set fire to a Kiewitt & Sons work truck. Peter Kiewitt & Sons is currently working on expanding the Sea to Sky highway between Vancouver and Whistler, the main artery for the Olympics, also paving the way for investment into land exploitation, tourism and development. This is not the first act of resistance to PK+S and hopefully not the last; in 2006 people occupied eagle ridge bluffs to prevent its destruction by the Sea to Sky highway. PK+S filed an injunction causing the arrest of camp occupants and the imprisonment of Squamish elder and warrior Harriet Nahanee who died shortly after suffering illness in prison.

PK+S constructs the spaces that house many institutions of physical as well as social control including; air force and navy operations centers, mines, dams, highways, and industrial nuclear experimentation facilities. This act, for us, was an attack against repression and those who construct its systems.

Guelph: Arsonists Hit Developers

On the night of Friday April 25th, the same night Mohawk land in Tyendinaga was being attacked by armed Ontario Provincial Police, four dump trucks owned by Priori and Sons and contracted by Reids Heritage Homes were destroyed by fire causing between three and four hundred thousand dollars in damages. On the side of one truck a scrawled note read “Get The Hell Out Of Tyendinaga”On the night of Friday April 25th, the same night Mohawk land in Tyendinaga was being attacked by armed Ontario Provincial Police, four dump trucks owned by Priori and Sons and contracted by Reids Heritage Homes were destroyed by fire causing between three and four hundred thousand dollars in damages. On the side of one truck a scrawled note read “Get The Hell Out Of Tyendinaga”

The trucks were targeted because of the environmental destruction these two companies cause turning forests, creaks, rivers, and farmland into concrete and death. They were also selected to send a message to all other developers, currently encroaching on native land, your developments are the continuation of a war on native people started long ago, get out of native land everywhere. Finally, we send a message to all state forces CSIS, RCMP, OPP, and Police. Let this be a sign of days to come.

Rocks from mother earth hurl themselves at Re/Max Real Estate Corp.

December 10 Coast Salish territory (Vancouver, BC Canada)

To show solidarity (as in shouldering some of the burden) with all those fighting the Sun Peaks development on unceded Secwepemc territory, and the Olympics in 2010 the windows of a Re/Max office at 2808 Kingsway were thrown in. From the roman empire that gave conquered lands to its military strongmen, to the feudal lords of the European middle ages paying off their debts owed to city merchants with pieces of “real assets”, to the Re/Max office trailer sitting in the mud of development at Sun Peaks ski resort, “real estate” has always meant stolen land and destroyed lives. From our point of view, every autonomous act, every insurgent event, every liberating attack against hierarchal power is an act of rehumanization, an affirmation of a life which won’t take it lying down.
